10 Reasons To Use Corstat™ Static Shielding Containers

1. Recyclable
   Corstat™ is recyclable as OCC (just like regular kraft). This makes it easy to dispose of and environmentally responsible. At left, examine the actual samples of recycled Corstat™ and Cortronic® vs. industry competitors. The center portion shows that Corstat™ and Cortronic® are clearly cleaner than the alternatives. Substantial discoloration in the paper prevents it from being recycled into Kraft paper.
2. Static Shielding
   Corstat™ is excellent static shielding material. Shielding is necessary in areas not controlled for ESD, whenever static sensitive devices are shipped or handled. Regular Kraft corrugated packages can generate a charge.
3. Non-Charge Generating
   Corstat™ surface does not generate charges and therefore is safe to use in any static safe area or uncontrolled area where sensitive electronics are handled.
4. Low Sulfur
   Corstat™ has been lab tested to assure that the sulfur content of regular corrugated and some impregnated or coated conductive materials are not present. Our sealed surface keeps sulfur content controlled well below the tarnishing point of silver.
5. Permanent
   Corstat™ properties are permanent and predictable, many dissipative ESD plastics and bag materials can become insulative, charge generator over time. This can lead to costly ESD damage.
6. Groundable
   Corstat™ surface will drain a charge safely to ground. This feature allows for safe handling in the field or at a workstation.
7. Eliminate Bags
   Bags and bagging labor are a significant cost in packaging and handling of sensitive devices. Corstat™ can eliminate the need for bags and reduce the overall costs of your packaging program while increasing productivity.
8. Physical Protection
   The construction of Corstat™ provides shock and vibration protection that cannot be achieved through the use of bags or solid plastic totes. Corrugated fluting offers protection through the use of air space between the flutes and liners of the material. Corstat™ coating actually adds to the strength of corrugate. Impregnating with carbon tend to weaken the structure of corrugated material.
9. Reusable
   Depending on the application, Corstat™ products are often used for several years. This is unlike shielding bags which have a minimal reuse potential.
10. Low Cost
    Corstat™ is a very cost effective way of assuring compliance with ESD program needs.
